Open Letter to TDoA & Aaron Deter Wolf

October 14, 2017

Since my phone schedule is not syncing up to be able to talk to you I have decided to email you regarding tomorrow's "excavation tour".

First, I would like to you to be aware of that I will be carbon copying this email to (Name) and (Name). Secondly I have been in contact with a high profile Native actor from Qualla boundary that has contacted the EBCI TPHO.

This what The Tennessee Alliance of Native Americans Seeking Interaction has found out regarding tomorrow's "tour".

1 - no one has received the proper 10 day in writing notice that you would be on the property which is a violation of TCA 11-6-116 (c)

2 -  it is highly disrespectful to charge admission to a Native American cultural site with out the consent of the respective Nations that ancestrally govern the lands. It is also a violation of TCA 11-6-117 because you are changing to see a native American artifact (the mound).   As Native people we aren't even allowed to charge to see artifacts - that's why we don't hold ceremonies there. It sacred ground.

I have taken screen captures of your event from third party sites containing your contact info.

I have also taken pictures depicting the portable toilet that is currently sitting at the base of the mound.

We didn't have a portapot on site at the eclipse ceremonies on 20 August 2017 so I know it's a recent addition.

My goal with Project TANASI is to show that Native people in the state of Tennessee will be keeping an eye on things involving our community. We hope to be good neighbors with TDoA and MTSU however much improvement needs to be done in the communication of future events.

TANASI is currently in the stage of drafting bylaws for Incorporation to show our intent to the state also.

Thank you for your understanding of this matter.
